Slices of Corona Life

Living in the COVID-19 epidemic sure has shaken up our lifestyles. I wish to bring attention to some of the issues I’ve come across through whimsical and satirical illustrations. This is Vancouver during the coronavirus global crisis.

Toilet Paper Castle: The COVID-19 epidemic gives hoarders the excuse to practice their mental disorder. Build a castle out of toilet paper why don’t you.

Spam Date: Spam will be a key ingredient in the future of date nights if the COVID-19 epidemic continues on resulting in food shortage.

Red Balloons: Today I woke up thinking how I can't play with anything anymore. Even balloons can be deadly.

Birthday in Holders: I miss cakes. That’s when I realized birthday parties are no more during the social distancing stage to combat the global epidemic.

Cooking Up A Storm: With “work from home” policies, social distancing, and closed restaurants, home-cooking seems like a favourable solution. Dig up those old recipes and cook up a storm.

Super Couch Potato: In the current COVID-19 epidemic, being a couch potato at home saves lives. It’s a superpower; embrace your potential and do nothing!

Shaveless: Stay-at-home order means it’s not worth the effort to shave anymore. Let your beard grow to the length of a skipping rope and use it as your new indoor exercise routine.

Unshare Rideshare?: Not sure how far social distancing will progress, will carpools be banned in the near future? Humanity over sustainability?

Max Occupancy: Try not to share the elevator with multiple people to practice safe physical distancing. Keep that max occupancy to one or two.

Dear Tulips: It is incredibly sad to hear that in Netherlands, millions of tulips are being dumped per day due to the low demand resulted from the coronavirus outbreak. It’s an uneasy feeling, as flowers hold meanings and help us express our own emotions.

Plateauing: Finally, BC is getting there in regards to flattening the curve on COVID-19. So happy just imagining how we might be able to resume normal lifestyle soon.

Zoom Bombed: Zoom-bombing is when your video conference is hijacked by a malicious user. Displaying sexualized images is one of their practices to wreak havoc. Learn how to protect your conference call!

Adult Egg Hunt: This Easter, the beloved activity of egg hunting is no longer just for kids. In fact, the adults have been hunting eggs at supermarkets for several weeks now.

Poisoned Apple: New York City became the global epicenter for COVID-19 with over 10,000 fatalities. With medical facilities at capacity, some patients are unable to receive care and are dying at home.

Veggie Dog: The meat prices are going up as meat factories are slowing down production due to coronavirus outbreaks. Probably the best time to convert to vegetarianism.

Home Aquarium: Zoos and aquariums around the world are having difficulty keeping afloat during the global crisis, and may face permanent closures. What will happen to the animals?

Social Nearing: Across the United States, protesters have taken to the streets disobeying the lockdown measures to demand the reopening of their country. No social distancing nor self isolation here in the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, and Trump seems to be on board.

Practice Flight: Pilots keep their license valid by flying. With the coronavirus outbreak grounding and laying off most of the pilots, it’d be difficult for the pilots to accumulate enough fly times to comply with the regulations. How will they keep their career?
